The sheriff of the small Kansas town where a man shot dead two people and wounded three others over the weekend was not named.
But it was not far from where the man killed three people and critically injured a fourth person over the summer in a hail of gunfire and police cars.
It’s been more than a week since the shooting in the small town of Lawrence.
As a law enforcement officer, the officer who shot and killed Eric Harris is expected to face criminal charges for his actions.
The officer was also charged with assault on a law officer.
Harris, a black man, is the first person in Kansas to be charged with murder in connection with a shooting involving a black person.
He was one of several black men charged in connection to the fatal shooting of George Floyd, a white man, who was killed by police during a traffic stop in August 2015.
Police say Harris, 28, opened fire in front of his wife and children on Saturday, killing Harris, his wife, their two children and a woman in the driveway of their home in Lawrence.
Police have not released the names of the three people who died.
The suspect is expected in court Tuesday morning.
He has not been formally charged.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
